TERAN
Teran, an authentic symbol of Istrian red wine, attracts attention with its dark, ruby-red color.
At first impression it reveals aromas of sour cherry and notes of chocolate, accompanied by hints of anise and cloves; but Teran wins you over with rich scents of forest fruit, black pepper and soft earthy tones.
This is a wine of strong character: on the palate it is lively and fresh, supported by pronounced tannic structure and a characteristic acidity that gives it persistence and depth with a touch of rusticity.
Its distinctive character makes it an excellent companion to intense dishes: it pairs perfectly with roasted and pan-fried red meats, gnocchi with game, traditional stews (maneštra), goulashes, fuži pasta and mature, full-flavored cheeses.
At its fullest expression it should be served at 15 to 18 °C (59 to 64 °F), so its layers can open up.
